How does the calculator find the number of weeks between two dates?+
It first calculates the total number of days between the two dates, then divides by 7 to express that span in whole weeks plus any leftover days.
Why isn't the result always a whole number of weeks?+
Unless the two dates fall on the same day of the week, the span will include extra days beyond complete weeks — for example, 10 days equals 1 week and 3 days, not exactly 1.43 weeks in everyday terms.
Does the calculation include both the start and end date?+
Typically it counts the number of days elapsed between the two dates (an exclusive count), not the number of calendar days touched; check whether your use case needs an inclusive count and adjust by one day if so.
How does this handle leap years?+
Because it works from actual calendar dates rather than assuming a fixed 365-day year, the calculation automatically accounts for the extra day in a leap year when February 29 falls within the range.

It's commonly used for pregnancy tracking, project timelines, or figuring out how many pay periods or billing weeks fall between two dates.
