Yield = harvested mass ÷ area= 8000
Note
Simplified agronomic model: results use the rates, grades and coefficients you enter and ignore soil type, weather, variety and local regulations. Confirm with a soil test, the product label and an agronomist before applying anything.

What does yield per hectare actually measure?+
It expresses your total harvest as a rate — quantity produced divided by the area it came from — so you can compare fields of different sizes on equal footing. It is usually given in tonnes or kilograms per hectare.
Why does my calculated yield differ from what the elevator reports?+
Elevator weights are often adjusted for moisture content and dockage, while a raw field yield is not. Comparing the two without correcting for moisture will make your field figure look inflated or deflated relative to the settlement weight.
Should I use the planted area or the harvested area?+
Use the harvested area if you want a true productivity figure, since drowned-out corners, headlands, or failed patches are not producing anything. Using the planted area instead gives you a whole-field average that includes those losses.
How much does yield vary within the same field?+
Soil type, drainage, and past management can easily create a two- or three-fold difference between the best and worst zones of one field. A single average figure is useful for whole-farm planning but hides that variability, which is why yield maps matter for input decisions.
Can I use this figure to forecast next year's harvest?+
Only as a rough baseline — yield is driven by weather, variety, and input decisions that change every season. Treat last year's per-hectare yield as one data point among several years, not a guarantee.
