Formula
V = l × w × h= 24
Note
Simplified model: these are exact results of the stated idealised formulas, assuming perfect shapes and exact inputs. Real measurements carry error, and the ellipse perimeter is a Ramanujan approximation. Verify independently before relying on these figures.

What three measurements do I need?+
Length, width, and height of the rectangular box (also called a rectangular prism or cuboid). All three are independent dimensions.
What is the formula?+
Volume equals length times width times height (V = l × w × h). It does not matter which dimension you call length versus width, as long as all three are multiplied together.
How do I also get the surface area?+
Surface area of a box is 2(lw + lh + wh) — it adds up the areas of all six rectangular faces (two of each pair). Check if your calculator reports this alongside volume.
What if my box has an open top, like a storage bin?+
Volume is unaffected by whether the top is open or closed — it still measures the internal capacity. Surface area would change, since you'd subtract one face, but this calculator assumes a closed box unless stated otherwise.
Why do my units come out wrong?+
Make sure all three dimensions are in the same unit before multiplying. Mixing centimeters and meters will give a volume that is off by a factor of 100 or 1,000,000 depending on which dimension was wrong.
