Formula
D = (target − S₀(1+r)^n) × r / [(1+r)^n − 1]= 917.03
Note
This projection applies the displayed standard formula to the costs and rates you entered and assumes they repeat, unchanged, every single period. Real households do not work that way: prices, incomes, interest rates and family circumstances all move, and a single unplanned event can outweigh years of the schedule below. The model ignores taxes, fees, benefits, grants and anything you did not enter, and costs of this kind vary enormously from one country to another. Treat the figures as an illustration of the arithmetic, not a forecast or financial advice, and consult a licensed adviser before acting on any of them.

How does the calculator turn my total budget into a savings plan?+
It takes your target wedding budget and target date, subtracts what you've already saved, and divides the remainder by the number of months until the date to give you a required monthly savings amount.
What if I can't save the monthly amount it suggests?+
You can adjust the target date further out, lower the overall budget, or increase your current savings contribution — the calculator lets you see the trade-off between each of those levers directly.
Does this account for a savings account earning interest?+
If you enter an expected interest or growth rate, yes — it will reduce the required monthly contribution slightly, since the account balance itself is doing some of the work over time.
Should I include the honeymoon in this budget?+
That's up to you — if you want the plan to be comprehensive, include honeymoon costs in the total target; otherwise, run it as a separate savings goal so you can track each independently.
What's a common mistake people make with wedding budgeting?+
Underestimating the total by forgetting line items like alterations, gratuities, taxes, and vendor overtime fees — building a 10-15% contingency into your target budget helps absorb these common overruns.
